The free resume templates shown above are a good starting point.  The first step is to establish if you are a candidate for a chronological resume or if you can use a functional resume.  The majority of job seekers can and must use a chronological resume; however, there are particular instances when you must use the functional style resume to overcome certain career challenges that would otherwise keep you from moving forward.

The second step is to fill in the various sections of your selected resume with your career, education and other critical information.  If you are a recent grad or job candidate with very little experience, you will also need to place your educational information prior to your job experience.
